“Borderline“ is an unreleased song by Dua Lipa which is an outtake from her second studio album "Future Nostalgia" (known originally at the time as "Glass House"), but was ultimately scrapped.
Background[]
The song was first recorded in 2018, and finalized in 2019 for the standard album, the track was later picked up again in 2020 for inclusion on ‘Future Nostalgia (The Moonlight Edition)’, but was ultimately left off the project. The track was produced by The Struts. According to insiders, it was considered for a release four times, first considered for the standard album, than the Charlie Angels soundtrack, next for another unknown soundrack, and finally Future Nostalgia (The Moonlight Edition), but was scrapped from all of them. It was released by Tove Lo in 2023, for her fifth studio album “Dirt Femme”. It was recorded during the same session as "Paranoid". It was the first song Dua Lipa & Tove Lo wrote together. A first snippet of the Dua's demo leaked on January 5, 2024. A second snippet of the Dua's demo was leaked on January 10, 2024. The song was leaked in full on January 14, 2024, along with 10 other unreleased songs.
