Born on August 22, 1995, Dua Lipa began her career as a model before signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2014. She rose to fame with her self-titled debut album (2017), which reached number three in the UK and produced the hit singles "Be the One," "IDGAF," and the UK number-one "New Rules." The album earned her Brit Awards for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act, and she later scored the best-selling single of 2018 with “One Kiss” alongside Calvin Harris, which won Brit Award for Song of the Year. In 2019, she won Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording for "Electricity" with Silk City.
Her second album, Future Nostalgia (2020), became her first UK number-one album and earned both a Brit Award for British Album of the Year and a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. Its singles "Don't Start Now," "Physical," "Break My Heart," and the US diamond-certified "Levitating", solidified her global success. Both of her first two albums have surpassed 10 billion streams on Spotify, making them the platform's most-streamed female albums.
Lipa continued topping the UK charts with "Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)" in 2021 and "Dance the Night" from Barbie (2023), where she also made her acting debut. Her third studio album, Radical Optimism, was announced on March 13, 2024, and released on May 3, 2024. She further expanded into film with a starring role in the 2024 spy-action comedy Argylle.
