According to the British artist confirmed on Twitter, Dua Lipa will present this week, specifically on Thursday, September 6, a new single titled 'Electricity'. It's about that collaboration with two of the most important pop producers of recent years, Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga) and Diplo (Madonna, Beyoncé), who now form a tandem under the name of Silk City.
As had been reported for weeks, 'Electricity' has also been composed with Romy Madley Croft, of The xx, and Florence Welch, known for her project Florence + The Machine. Ronson said in an interview that this song has "a deep and soulful voice that takes us back to the gospel house era". A priori, that seems to be in perfect stylistic harmony with the current success of Dua Lipa, 'One Kiss', also a collaboration, in this case with Calvin Harris. It has been number 1 in the list of singles in the United Kingdom and reached the top 26 of Billboard Hot 100 in the US.
'Electricity' will be Silk City's fourth single after 'Only Can Get Better' (with Daniel Merriweather), 'Feel About You' (with Mapei) and 'Loud' (with GoldLink and Desiigner). As for Dua Lipa, it was included on the Complete Edition of her debut album Dua Lipa released October 19, 2018.
