Background[]
After several leaks, Dua Lipa released her second studio album Future Nostalgia on March 27, 2020. The album was met with widespread critical acclaim and became a commercial success, reaching the top of the charts in 13 countries. After the album's release, Lipa speculated the release of tracks that weren't included on the standard edition of the album, saying, "I have a few songs I've worked on and put aside for a second release, so that's all for discussion".[1] Lipa further explained that she had always planned for a reissue, as she was very “relentless” in her choice of tracks on the standard edition.
Lipa described "Fever" as an introduction to B-sides. In a YouTube chat with her fans for the release of her music video, Lipa announced that the B-sides would be released in 2021.[2][3] In January 2021, Lipa further teased the release of the B-sides with a post on social media with the caption "B-sides are on the way".[4][5] She still played until the following month.[6] On February 4, 2021, Dua officially announced the reissue's release date and its title, Future Nostalgia: The Moonlight Edition.[7][8]
It was officially released on February 11, 2021, and features bonus tracks not found on the standard edition of the album. Prior to the release of the reissue album, Dua Lipa released the singles "Levitating (feat. DaBaby)", “Fever” and “We’re Good”. Lipa was also featured on "Prisoner" by Miley Cyrus and "Un Día (One Day)" by J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Tainy. Borderline was also considered to be on the tracklist, but was ultimately left off for Unknown reasons. The song was later given to Tove Lo.
